Red Shoes, although inspired by the Hans Christian Anderson story and also the film of the same name by Powell and Pressburger, is not a re-telling of the story, but a new dynamic piece of dance theatre, with a darkly comedic edge, populated with characters and red shoes. Collaborating for the first time with Michael Popper, who is known for satirical dance and theatre work, Kally Lloyd-Jones performs this one woman miniature epic of passion, horror and sacrifice.
